Mercury Retrograde is GREAT! Whoa...what???

Yes my friends, that time is upon us once again.  The dreaded Mercury Retrograde, or is it, dreaded I mean?  First off, for those of you reading this that have no idea what Mercury Retrograde is, here is a brief explanation.  During this “glorious” time the planet Mercury slows down, even appearing to stop and move backwards in orbit. It's essentially an optical illusion.  The duration is for three weeks, three times a year. The planet Mercury governs communication and travel, and while in retrograde issues in these areas are often common.  For that reason most people dread Mercury Retrograde, however, it really doesn’t have to be all that bad.  Wait, wait, wait, before you call me crazy read on.

So yes, this is the ideal time for breakdowns in communication, from annoying typos to contracts worded or understood incorrectly.  If something is going to get screwed up during travel, this is generally when it would happen.  Again, it doesn’t have to be that bad.  Armed with this little bit of knowledge, you can not only make it through this astrological annoyance, but even get a giggle as you notice the nuances that come through these next few weeks. What do I mean by that?  For one, when you know Mercury Retrograde is coming up (or you are just finding out you are in it) exercise a little more caution.  Be sure to re-read anything important before signing it or sending that detailed project email to a business associate.  Be patient when speaking with others because of the possible difficulty with communications which can lead to unnecessary arguments and no one wants that. People can be prone to breakdowns, and misplacing objects.. Just work on clarity. Hold off on starting any new major projects, buying any social electronics, or delay travel plans if it is possible (if not, just double check departure times, is there enough gas in the car, etc…)

Mercury Retrograde is also a great time to finish those projects you were working on but set aside to finish later.  Guess what, its later, pull out those old ideas, projects or whatever it was you were working on in the PAST and approach them again with a fresh perspective.  This is also a great time to do some contemplating.  Many times we have issues today that stem from something that happened in the PAST.  Take the time to heal those past issues so you can move forward with confidence, love, and CLARITY.  It’s easy to get caught up in the day to day, worrying what tomorrow will or will not bring.  Forget all that and give yourself some loving attention. Think before you speak!  This is a fantastic time to connect with old friends, someone you might have lost touch with. The experience is yours, and consciously learning from the obstacle makes your soul that much richer.

Now, for those of you that we born during a retrograde this is your time to shine.  These people generally have difficulty communicating on a regular basis, but once the Mercury Retrograde hits, BLAM, they are in the flow and riding that wave of clear communications.  Go figure right?  Hey, like I said, it’s not all that bad.

If you are aware of the subtle and sometimes not so subtle energies at play, life can be much more enjoyable once you learn to flow with those energies.  So yes, generally speaking Mercury Retrograde is not much fun, but the sting can be lessened with a little knowledge and a little preparation.

You got this, the Retrograde ends November 10th, 2013! Hang in there!
